How this site is funded
Every comparison site has a business model, and the model shapes the content whether or not the publisher admits it. Here is ours, stated before you read anything else.
What we do not sell
- Placement in editorial content. No supplier can pay to appear in a comparison, to be described more favourably, or to have a competitor removed.
- Rankings, awards, badges or “top ten” positions of any kind.
- Equipment. We are not a manufacturer, installer, integrator or reseller, so there is no product of ours that a recommendation could steer you toward.
- Your contact details as a raw lead list sold on to whoever bids most.
What we intend to charge for
A verified supplier directory. Suppliers will be able to pay to have their claims put through our verification process and to maintain a listing. What they are buying is the verification work and the listing itself — not a rating, not a position, and not protection from criticism. A verified listing that fails a check gets its label removed, and the fee does not change that.
Introductions, where a reader explicitly asks to be connected to suppliers who fit their requirement. If a fee is ever attached to an introduction, it will be disclosed on the page where the introduction is offered, at the moment it is offered.
Neither of these is live yet. The directory launches when there are real verified records to publish, and not before.
Where this model could still bias us
Honest disclosure includes the failure modes. A directory funded by supplier fees creates an incentive to have more listed suppliers, which is pressure toward a looser verification bar over time. Our answer is that the standard is published and dated, so tightening or loosening it is visible rather than quiet.
It also means suppliers who decline to be verified may simply be absent, and absence is not evidence of a bad supplier. Where a credible supplier is missing from a comparison because they are not in our process, the page should say so.
